No. You do not need to arrive with a diagnosis or a plan. Marie listens carefully and collaborates with you to choose what may help, including Brainspotting, Parts Work, nervous system regulation, somatic awareness, or gentle movement when helpful.

Brainspotting is a neuroexperimental process for healing and expansion. It uses the connection of the amygdala (in the brain) and the optic nerve to “touch” the area of the brain which holds our emotions. In doing so we connect the mind, body and spirit in a way which helps the person to heal from past trauma, stress and anxiety with professional guidance from certified brainspotters. It draws from many effective modalities and adapts to each individual client in a way which makes it difficult to measure objectively, yet it has been one of the most successful modalities used for deep trauma. It uses eye position to access and process unresolved issues stored in the brain and body.

Yes. Marie specializes in working with couples. The model she uses is “Intimacy From the Inside Out,” which stems from Internal Family Systems.

Yes. Marie can work with children and teens using age-appropriate approaches such as play therapy and Brainspotting in the Sandtray, especially when talking directly about feelings is difficult.

Yes. Online sessions are available nationwide, and Brainspotting may be offered internationally. In-person sessions are available in the Rochester Hills, Michigan area.

In-person sessions are held in the Oakland County area. We meet in a private studio in Rochester Hills. Online sessions are also available nationwide and internationally.

Yes, Marie Demres is Christian and she will refer to God in sessions and pray with you, if you want her to. She will not force God or any religion on anyone and she will accept all clients regardless of race, religion or creed.

Marie holds a B.A. in Psychology from Oakland University, an M.A. in Special Education from Eastern Michigan University, and brings 30 years of teaching experience. She is a Whole Life Guidance Coach, trauma informed, an International Brainspotter, and has additional training in Parts Work, relationship guidance, Reiki, somatic and movement practices, and Brain Longevity.
